Frequently asked questions
How is Fold different from Google News or Inshorts?
Fold curates stories from multiple outlets, verifies the reporting, and distills each topic into one clear summary. There are no ads or endless feeds competing for attention.
What does the free plan include?
You get a 14-day full trial first. After that, the free tier still includes daily top stories and source links. Paid plans unlock more interests and deeper personalization.
How does pricing work?
Pricing scales with the number of interests you follow. Start with broad categories and expand into the sub-topics you actually want. Plans start at ₹29/month for 3 interests.
How does fact-checking work?
Each story is checked against multiple sources before publication. If reporting conflicts, Fold makes that visible and keeps the source links attached so you can verify directly.
When does my magazine update?
Your edition updates automatically during your local update window. When new stories match your interests, they appear in the magazine and in push alerts if you have them enabled.
Can I choose specific sub-topics?
Yes. Each interest category comes with curated sub-topics you can turn on or off. For example, under Sports you can enable Cricket and disable Football, or the other way around.
Is my data shared or sold?
Never. Fold does not sell your data, run ad profiling, or share your reading history with third parties.
What is the refund policy?
All payments are final and non-refundable. Because access is delivered immediately, refunds are not offered once a purchase is completed. See our Cancellation & Refunds Policy for full details.
My payment was deducted but I don't have access. What do I do?
Payments are processed by Razorpay. If your payment succeeded but access was not granted, email us at support@fold.news with your Razorpay payment reference ID and we will resolve it promptly.
How do I reach support?
Email us at support@fold.news. We typically respond within 1–2 business days.
